EU Solidarity Talks Podcast Partnership
From 2023 to summer 2025, I was the lead content producer for the European Commission Directorate-General European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) #EUSolidarityTalks.
When DG ECHO sought to reach new target audiences in multiple languages, they turned to audio and podcast platforms and existing communities.
The series of podcast partnerships explored the behind-the-scenes of EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid experts and partners deployed to disaster areas and humanitarian crises to deliver life-saving aid.
With media experts in the team, we established partnership with existing and successful podcasters around Europe for them to publish between one and four episodes on topics decided by DG ECHO and featuring their experts.
Topics included preparedness against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) risks, the EU’s preparations ahead of the wildfire season, the war in Ukraine and response to humanitarian crises around the world.
As the lead content producer, I developed briefings for podcast partners on humanitarian and civil protection activities based on DG ECHO’s priorities, trending topics and each podcaster’s preferences, as well as social media copy to promote the episodes on our client’s feeds.
By the end of the third year, #EUSolidarityTalks had partnered with 19 podcasts, totalling over 200k downloads.
